Your Abilene Public Library has been no stranger when it comes to book clubs. After all, literature is a large part of what your library is all about. We've hosted a monthly club for the general adult audience for several years now, and we're happy to offer a new club for teen readers. Designed exclusively for the young adult audience (ages 13-19), your South Branch (1401 S. Danville Dr.) will introduce the Teen Book Club, set to make its debut on Monday, February 2 @ 6:00PM.
Meeting on the first Mondays of each month, this group will read popular teen books, and those who attend the meetings will be the ones who select the future titles. If you have, or are, an avid teen reader, you'll not want to miss out on being part of this new book club at your library. Let's face it, young adult literature is extremely popular these days, and has even crossed over to draw in many an adult reader as well. We'll build on that momentum by engaging teens in a host of fun literary activities, featuring a new book each meeting.
This club will be led by Marianne Vadney, a library employee and avid lover of YA lit, and who devours almost every teen book we get. With a passion for reading, she's excited to finally introduce and lead this new club.
