Science Club @ Your Library

Youth, ages 8+, are invited out to our monthly meeting of the Science Club at your library.  Each month we learn about a new science concept and then engage in hands-on experiments to see that concept brought to life.  We'll supply all the materials needed and all experiments will be safe.  There's no need to register, just be ready to come out for a little educational fun.

If you have questions about the Affordable Care Act, come out to the library to participate in this free workshop led by Tina Malaer and other Health Care Navigators from the Betty Hardwick Center.  Don't miss out on getting the information you need, or receiving some help to signup for the insurance you need, if you're not already insured. 

Make & Take: Cotton Ball Snowmen

Join us for an evening crafting workshop at the library where we'll still be having fun with winter at the library by showing you how to make snowmen using cotton balls and other neat accessories.  We'll supply all the materials and instruction you'll need, just stop by for this quick evening craft.

Make & Take: Penguins

Get ready for more crafting fun at the library with an after school activity for kids of all ages where we'll be making PENGUINS.  They're completely adorable, always dressed to impress, and have an awesome walk.  We'll show youth how to make their own penguins and supply all the materials and instruction needed to do so.

Don't miss this afternoon social activity at your library, designed especially for teens ages 13-18.  We'll be in the activity room and offer food and fun for you to have with your peers as a way to hang out, socialize, and meet new friends.  Each month our games will change so come have a little fun at your library. 

Living with the Best Pet Possible

If you've got a dog, this is the program for you.  We're inviting in Pat Brannan, dog trainer and owner of Pat's Pawsitive Dog Training, who will share information on how to train and live with dogs so that "neither animal nor human will experience pain, fear, or anguish." 

Lego My Library (Lego Club)

If you love to build, and you love Legos, this is the club for you.  Designed for youth and teens, ages 8-18, join us for an afternoon of fun while we create fun designs.  Whether working independently, or as a group, you'll have fun creating one project after another.  Sometimes our club meetings will be centered around a them, and other times we'll ask you to free design...just come ready for some afternoon fun. 

Collecting Commas Writing Club

If you're between the ages of 10-17 and love to write, look at being a part of our weekly writing club at the library.  Hone your creative writing skills with no pressure or stress in this fun and interactive group, led by children's librarian Kelsie Wade.  Each week we'll work on writing activities and collaborate in all forms of writing, while going over the basics too.  There's no need to register, just come ready for some writing fun.

If you're out and about enjoying the ArtWalk festivities, stop by the library to checkout our featured display from Deborah Tarsiewicz, plus, kids will get the chance to make 'memory balls' from the movie Inside Out.  And you'll not want to miss checking out the mural in the children's storyroom created by local artist Debra Warr.
