The guitar is one of the most popular and universal instruments. Believed to originate from Spain in the 1600s today's modern guitars are featured in a variety of music genres including rock, jazz, easy listening, golden oldies, blues and country. Learning to play may seem daunting when first starting out. Should you start with chords or notes? Should you strum, pluck or pick the guitar strings? Whether you have a teacher or are teaching yourself finding other beginners to practice and play with can be a great experience.
On Monday, March 28 at 6:30PM at the Mockingbird Branch, guitarist Vincent Allen Dawson will host a beginner's jam session. A self-taught individual, he's been playing professionally for ten years and enjoys sharing his talent and knowledge with others. This fun and free event is for adults as well as youth who currently own and play the instrument. Whatever your skill level if you're open to playing and learning from others then this is an event for you.
