Taking Books on the Road with Stories in the Park

Great Outdoors Storytime
After a successful first year in 2015, the South Branch Library is ready for round two of Stories in the Park.  Hosted at Redbud Park (3125 S. 32nd St.), kids are welcome to join library staff as we enjoy stories, songs, games, and other fun activities outdoors.

This program will kick off during Spring Break, with two sessions hosted that week on Tuesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 17 at 3:00PM.  Following this week, additional sessions will be hosted on Thursday afternoons at 3:00PM through the end of the summer reading clubs in July.

Where Will You Find Us?: Redbud is a big park, but if you're looking for your library, we'll be in the field across from the playground.  Look out for our 15-ft tall blue flag and that's where we'll be.  We'll supply some tarps for kids to sit on, but feel free to bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy.  Plus, if it gets too sunny, make sure you bring your water and sunscreen.

Fun with Parachutes
Each session will feature a different theme from "Dancin' in the Park" and "Crazy Hair" to "Dinosaur Roars" and "Teddy Bear Picnics."  We're going to have it all at these sessions, and with 18 planned from March through July, there will be plenty of opportunities to join us for some outdoorsy storytime fun.

Please Note: Sessions will be hosted as long as the weather permits.  If we need to cancel an event due to the weather, or you're unsure, check our Facebook and Twitter pages for updates, or you can call the South Branch at 325-698-7565.

Don't miss the first Stories in the Park sessions hosted during Spring Break, and then make it a part of your weekly routine on the following Thursdays.  We guarantee you and your children will have fun.  For more information on these events, contact Alyssa Crow at 325-698-7565.
