Kick Off Your Summer Reading Program with a Howl!

The Zoo Lady will be bringing animals of all kinds to the Mockingbird Branch on Wednesday, June 8 at 3:00PM.  You don't want to miss out on this opportunity to get up-close and personal with some amazing creatures!  Which will she bring?  Will they slither or sing?  Join us to find out!  All ages are welcome.  This program is made possible thanks to our summer partnership with the Abilene Zoo and Joy Harsh.  Additional sessions will be hosted at the South Branch and Main Library locations in June and July with each session featuring different animals for youth to learn about.  Plus, at the end of each event, you will get the chance to touch some of our animal friends too.

Then, escape the afternoon heat at the library by participating in a new summer program at your Mockingbird Branch.  Hosted every Wednesday at 2:00PM, local youth are welcome to attend our Tween & Teen Coloring Club!  We'll provide all the necessary materials for free, but you are welcome to bring your own coloring pages and pencils if you like.  We will have coloring pages of all types: flowers, castles, superheroes, etc.  This program is appropriate for ages 8-18.

There will be a host of great activities for the community to take advantage of all summer long at your Abilene Public Library.  Keep up with them all by visiting our Summer Reading Club Pages online to download reading logs and event flyers.  Then drop in during the summer to get prizes, books, and make memories that will last a lifetime!
