Today's Top Book & DVD Releases

Everyone loves staying on top of the latest in books & DVDs and we receive them on a regular basis at your library.  Join us as we hit the highlights of some of the more popular titles being released today.

Dirty Grandpa
Starring: Zac Efron
Summary: Straight-laced lawyer Jason goes on a road trip to Daytona Beach with his horndog grandfather Dick, who was recently widowed and is eager to party hard on spring break now that he's a single man.  Along the way, Dick prods Jason to let loose and have fun, and tries to convince him that he shouldn't get married to his controlling fiancee. 

The Witch

Starring: Anya Taylor-Joy
Summary: A devout Puritan family in 1630s New England are exiled from their village, and struggle to survive in their new home situated at the edge of a mysterious forest.  The sinister, witching forces in the wilderness emerge silently to terrorize them, first by kidnapping the youngest of their five children.  As their life-sustaining crops fail, the clan fall victim to paranoia and fear as they begin to turn on one another, eventually suspecting teenage daughter Thomasin of witchcraft. 

Kindergarten Cop 2
Starring: Dolph Lundgren
Summary: A veteran FBI agent is assigned to go undercover as a kindergarten teacher in order to recover important stolen data in this comedy sequel. 

The Fireman
Author: Joe Hill
Summary: No one knows exactly when it began or where it originated.  A terrifying new plague is spreading like wildfire across the country, striking cities one by one.  The doctors call it Draco Incendia Trychophyton.  To everyone else in Dragonscale, a highly contagious, deadly spore that marks its hosts with beautiful black and gold marks across their bodies - before causing them to burst into flames.  There is no antidote and no one is safe.  Harper is a compassionate nurse who has discovered the first signs of the contagion on her skin.  She wants to live since she's pregnant, and some infected mothers have given birth to healthy babies.  Abandoned by her husband, she's left to survive in the chaos of the city.  But there is a stranger known as The Fireman who has learned to control the fire within himself, using it as a shield to protect the hunted...and as a weapon to avenge the wronged.

Beyond the Ice Limit (Gideon Crew Series #4)

Blood Flag: A Paul Madriani Novel

Summary: Paul Madriani and Harry Hinds have a new client: Emma Brauer, a woman accused in the "mercy killing" of her aged father, Robert Brauer.  Insisting she's innocent, Emma tells Paul about a package sent to her father shortly before he entered the hospital.  Bequeathed to him by a member of his own unit from WWII, the box contains a key and a slip of paper.  Emma fears that this package is connected to her father's death.  When Paul's young assistant Sofia is murdered, Madriani is blindsided by the realization that Emma's fears are well-grounded.  Digging into Robert's military history, Madriani discovers that other members of the Army unit Robert served with have recently died - under similarly suspicious circumstances.  When he finds that the box sent to Brauer relates to a mysterious talisman that went missing at the end of the war - a feared Nazi relic known as the "Blood Flag" - Madriani and Hinds realize they are in for the fight of their lives.
