If you're a teen, with a passion for reading, then you'll certainly want to be a part of our Teen Book Club at your South Branch Library.  Each month we meet to discuss popular YA reads and this month's selection is "Weight of Feathers" by Anna-Marie McLemore.  In this book, although Lace Paloma knows all about the feud between the Palomas and the Corbeaus, she finds herself falling for Cluck Corbeau when he saves her life while both families are performing in the same town.  Check out a copy from your library and come ready to discuss with other avid teen readers at the next book club.

Adults who love to read make up this book club at your library.  Join this lively bunch of avid readers who select the books we read each month.  May's title is "At Home" by Bill Bryson.  With his signature wit, charm, and seemingly limitless knowledge, Bill Bryson takes us on a room-by-room tour through his own house, using each room as a jumping off point into the vast history of the domestic artifacts we take for granted.  If you're looking for a book club group to join, look no further than your library.

PH: 325-698-7565
Teens are invited to join us for a Teen Movie Night at your South Branch Library, offering a fun After Hours event to participate in.  We've added a second movie night to the schedule each month, based on popular demand, and for our second movie of the month we're going to start working our way through The Hunger Games franchise by the end of the July.  Tonight's featured flick will be the first flick (from the bestselling series by Suzanne Collins) with 2012's "The Hunger Games" starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth.  In this film, Katniss Everdeen voluntarily takes her younger sister's place in the Hunger Games, a televised competition ion which two teenagers from each of the twelve Districts of Panem are chosen at random to fight to the death.  This film is Rated PG-13 and runs in at 2 hours and 22 min.  Teens will be supervised by library staff the entire time and we'll supply snacks and drinks.  Rides should arrive for pickup no later than 8:15PM.

PH: 325-676-6067
Kids & Parents are welcome to join us for a great movie showing at your library this Saturday afternoon.  For today's event, we'll be showing 2014's "The Lego Movie," as we certainly do love our Legos at the library from everyone who regularly attends our monthly sessions of the Lego Club.  In this movie, an ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be prophesied "Special," is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis.  This film is rated PG and has a run time of 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Don't miss out on these great activities being hosted at your library and get in on what we have to offer!
