Book lovers, get ready.

The Friends of the Abilene Public Library is gearing up for its Annual Book Sale, which kicks off from 5-8PM. Thursday at the Abilene Civic Center with a preview sale for members of the Friends.  Membership may be purchased at the door Thursday.  Memberships range from $15 a year to $500 for a Lifetime Friend membership.

The sale opens to the general public from 10AM to 8PM Friday; 10AM to 6PM Saturday; and 1-4PM Sunday.  There is no admission fee.

Children's books cost $1.50 an inch.  Regular hardcover or trade-size softcover books cost $2, as do computer software, books on tape, CDs and DVDs.  Mass market paperback books and videos cost $1 each, which also is the price of records and cassettes.

On Sunday, it's the Bag-O-Books sale, during which $6 buys all the books that fit into a bag (bags provided).

All proceeds from the Annual Fundraiser benefit the Abilene Public Library.
