Today's Top Book & DVD Releases

Everyone loves staying on top of the latest in books & DVDs and we receive them on a regular basis at your library.  Join us as we hit the highlights of some of the more popular titles being released today.

The Boss
Starring: Melissa McCarthy
Summary: Highly successful businesswoman Michelle Darnell is convicted of insider trading and sentenced to prison.  After being released, she is forced to move in with a long-suffering employee of hers, and tries to earn redemption and revamp her public image by helping a group of young girls in their quest to sell brownies.

Hardcore Henry
Starring: Sharlto Copley
Summary: A recently resurrected soldier named Henry must rescue his wife from a maniacal villain in this action movie that takes place entirely from a first-person perspective.  Henry has been scientifically engineered into a superpowered warrior, and a ruthless criminal gang wants to get their hands on the technology embedded in his body.  With the help of gruff fellow soldier Jimmy, Henry fights back.

Criminal
Starring: Kevin Costner
Summary: Sociopathic death-row inmate Jerico Stewart is implanted with the memories of a deceased CIA agent in a desperate attempt to thwart a deadly plot involving a Dutch hacker.  At the same time, Jerico reconnects with his own humanity as he bonds with the late agent's family.

Truly Madly Guilty

Summary: Sam and Clementine have a wonderful busy life: they have two girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime.  If there's anything they can count on, it's each other.  Clementine and Erika are each other's oldest friends.  A single look between them can convey an entire conversation.  But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don't hesitate.  Having Tiffany and Vid's larger than life personalities there will be a welcome respite.  Two months later, it won't stop raining, and Clementine and Sam can't stop asking themselves the question: What if we hadn't gone?

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (July 31)

Summary: Based on an original new story by Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts I & II: The Official Script Book of the Original West End Production" is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage.  The play will receive its world premiere in London's West End on July 30, 2016.  In this story, it was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.  While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted.  As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

The Angels' Share (Bourbon Kings #2)
