The West Texas Book Festival is headed your way, bringing great authors and events for the community to attend in a celebration of reading and writing. Sponsored by the Friends of the Abilene Public Library, this year's events will run September 19-24, and most activities are FREE for the public to attend.
Interested guests will be afforded with the opportunity to connect with great authors from the state of Texas, join in on fabulous ticketed events, see award presentations, and more. A great lineup of authors will be present at this year's festival, with the headliner being New York Times Bestselling author Leila Meacham (San Antonio, TX). Culinary Cuisine Luncheon
You'll not want to miss your chance to attend this ticketed event, featuring a great lunch from the recipes of the featured cookbook authors and hosted at the TSTC Culinary Institute. Ticket prices start at $30 and there will be limited seating so tickets do go fast. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase copies of their works, meet the authors, participate in a book signing, and hear brief presentations from each featured guest. Texas Cookbook Gala
As the premier fundraiser for the festival, this is a ticketed black tie event hosted at the Abilene Country Club and featuring this year's featured cookbook authors and Texas vintners. Ticket prices are $225 each, $1,800 for Patron Sponsor tables of 8, and $3,000 for Underwriting Sponsor tables of 8. Boots & Books Luncheon
Closing out the festival each year, this event is hosted at the Abilene Civic Center and filled with great activities. Ticket prices are $25 each and $250 for a table of 10. Guests will be treated to a catered lunch by Sharon's Barbeque, a presentation featuring a contributing author from the book "West Texas Stories," see the presentation of the 2016 A.C. Greene Award to bestselling author Leila Meacham (San Antonio), learn who the 2016 recipient of the Ricki Brown Librarian of the Year Award is, and more.
