Science Club

If you have a child who is wild about science, be a part of our monthly Science Club for youth at your library.  Each month we meet up to discuss different science concepts designed to educate youth outside of the classroom.  Each club meeting also includes science demonstrations and the opportunity to join staff in hands-on experiments to really bring the educational learning to life.  No registration is required, just come out and be ready to enjoy some science fun with library staff.  For additional information, contact Amanda Sasser at 325-676-6067.

Make & Take: Food Fans

Kids of all ages are invited to stick around after Science Club and join us for a fun crafting session at your library.  We'll supply all the materials needed to show you how to create your own fans, which are perfect for beating the summer Texas heat.  Even better, the fans we'll be making will be designed to look like watermelons (which are the best summer treat for staying hydrated) or apples.  All materials will be supplied, and for additional information, contact Kelsie Wade at 325-676-6067.

Mockingbird Movies

We're hosting a free movie night for the community where you'll decide the movie we watch for the evening.  Those who arrive will choose to watch the 1954 mystery/thriller "Rear Window" starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly, or the 1961 romantic comedy "Breakfast at Tiffany's" starring Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard.  Both are great flicks and the majority will rule in deciding which of the two we watch.  Come out and enjoy our free movie night at your library, and for additional information, contact Anne Ellis at 325-437-7323.

Make & Take: Olympic Medals

Lego My Library (Lego Club)

If you like building things, and being creative, you're definitely right for being a part of our Lego Club at the library.  Designed for local youth, we'll supply all the Legos needed for you to get building.  Sometimes we'll follow a specific theme, and other times we'll free design.  The fun is simply getting involved in this hands-on activity at your library.  If you need help getting started, staff will be there to assist, and we'll offer access to some great Lego instructional books for coming up with projects you can work on solo, or as a group.  No registration is needed, and for additional information, contact Kelsie Wade at 325-676-6067.

Super Storytime: Cookies!

Collecting Commas Writing Club

Youth are invited to be a part of our weekly writing club at your library, where you can hone your creative writing skills in all forms from novels to poetry.  Each week we meet to work on various writing activities in a stress-free environment with your peers, and we even work on larger joint projects such as putting together poetry slams, writing plays, doing skits, and more.  We have a great group of youth attending each month, and we want you to be a part of the writing fun at your library.  There's no need to register, and for additional club information, contact Kelsie Wade at 325-676-6067.

Join us for a movie night during ArtWalk at your library, where we'll be showing the Spanish-language version of the hit Disney movie from 2013 titled "Frozen."  In this movie, when the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition.  English subtitles will be available as well, and for additional information, contact Janet Bailey at 325-677-2474.

Teen Scene After Hours: Doctor Who Fandom Party

Local teens are invited out to another after hours activity night, after it was so well-received at the last event with a record number of teens attending.  For this session, Whovians will unite as we celebrate the fandom of Doctor Who.  Join us as we play live-action Doctor Who Clue, make some Doctor Who crafts, and so much more in this hour and a half long event.  Plus, if you're really feeling adventurous, we encourage you to dress up as you favorite Doctor Who characters.  This event will end at 7:30PM, at which time parents and rides may arrive for pickup.  Don't miss out on this great event for teens at your library, and for additional information, contact Kelsie Wade at 325-676-6067.

Kids & Parents are invited out to a great movie showing at the library with a Disney favorite with 2010's "Tangled."  In this film, the magically long-haired Rapunzel has spent her entire life in a tower, but now that a runaway thief has stumbled upon her, she is about to discover the world for the first time, and who she really is.
