Today's Top Book & DVD Releases

Everyone loves staying on top of the latest in books & DVDs and we receive them on a regular basis at your library.  Join us as we hit the highlights of the more popular titles being released today.

Alice Through the Looking Glass

Summary: Alice returns to Wonderland after finding success in the real world as a ship's captain, only to discover that the Mad Hatter is suffering from severe depression.  Eager to help her friend, she steals a time-travel device called the Chronosphere and journeys into the pass in order to save the Hatter's family.  Elsewhere, the deposed Red Queen also attempts to go back in time and heal old wounds.

Summary: An English couple vacationing in Morocco are approached by a money launderer for the Russian mob, who asks for their help in defecting to British Intelligence.  An MI6 agent is handling their case and realizes that the mob has links to several prominent British politicians.

The first storm comes from the Minnesota zoo.  Two large, and very rare, Amur tigers have vanished from their cage, and authorities are worried sick that they've been stolen for their body parts.  Traditional Chinese medicine prizes those parts for home remedies, and people who will do extreme things to get what they need.  Some of them are a great deal more extreme than others - as Virgil is about to find out.  Then there's the homefront.  Virgil's relationship with his girlfriend Frankie has been getting kind of serious, but when Frankie's sister Sparkle moves in for the summer, the situation gets a lot more complicated.  For one thing, her research into migrant workers is about to bring her up against some very violent people who emphatically do not want to be researched.  For another...she thinks Virgil's kind of cute.
