Library Programming Now on Suddenlink

Your Abilene Public Library is pleased to announce that the community will be able to catch select library events and programming on Suddenlink Channel 2, through the Abilene Television Network.  You may have seen us in the past with our early craft shows, but now we'll be providing you with even more content from special events, library workshops, author talks, and more throughout the year.

New content, filmed by library staff, will begin airing on Channel 2 starting the week of April 23.  We'll then be added to the regular rotation as we acquire additional programming.  So, if there was a program you weren't able to make it out to, or even if you just wish to see the types of programming we have to offer, you'll be able to see select shows on Suddenlink.

Currently, the lineup will consist of:
  • Texas Author Series featuring Mary O. Parker
  • Step Parenting Do's & Don'ts Workshop with Dr. Marc Orner
  • Texas Author Series featuring Johnnie Lou Avery Boyd
  • Growth Farming Workshop with D. Grant Smith
To keep up with the regular programming schedule, visit the Abilene Television Network page online and access the schedule lineup for the upcoming weeks.  You will also be able to see when programming from other city departments will air as well.

Additional segments are already being filmed, and we're pleased to offer you with more chances to keep up with our library services.  For the time being, the emphasis will be on providing you with content of select adult programming and special events, and later we'll begin to add more original library programming.

Plus, if you can't catch us on Channel 2, you may also access all of our videos, current and past, on our YouTube Page.  With over 1 million views, we certainly have one of the most viewed public library channels in the state, so feel free to peruse our collection of videos from the past.  Such includes episodes of our Crafty Creations & Project Teen series, instructional videos on using library services, clips from past Texas Author Series and West Texas Book Festival events, and more.  Plus, we'll be adding more content regularly.
