|Spotlight on Seniors at Your Mockingbird Branch|
Join us on Wednesday, April 19 at 10:30AM for Spotlight on Seniors, a new and fun informative class for citizens ages 55+ who want to get connected to local resources just for them. The West Central Texas Area Agency on Aging will be at your Mockingbird Branch Library (1326 N. Mockingbird Ln.) to serve as our hosts for the day to tell us all about their organization.
What is the Area Agency on Aging?
- They are a local non-profit whose focus is to help seniors, or their caregivers, tackle day-to-day issues of care and living. They can help coordinate and direct a full range of series and opportunities for those 60 and older who wish to live healthy, dignified, and independent lives in their own homes. The Abilene office serves over 19 counties here in the Big Country and has a wonderful staff of caring, committed individuals.
What will they talk about or what can I expect to learn by attending?
- A few of the topics they will cover in details includes: Care Coordination; Benefits Counseling; Health & Wellness; Caregiver Support; and Older Relative Caregivers (55+) raising grandchildren in their residence.
Do I need to RSVP or pay a fee for this class?
- Absolutely not! All library programs are always free of charge and open to anyone in the community who wants to attend. Learning is a lifelong pursuit, so if you know someone who could benefit from this program, or wish to attend yourself, we encourage you to stop by Wednesday, April 19 at 10:30AM and participate.
