"Mockingbird Nights...and More!" | @ the Library Article

Nights are heating up at the Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library with their newest monthly program, Mockingbird Nights.  What do you do in Abilene on a Tuesday night if you aren't a child, or looking for entertainment for the whole family?  Where can you go without spending money and meet new people with similar interests?  Mockingbird is where!  Mockingbird Nights is aimed for the 18-40 year old crowd and will be strictly 18 and up.  Every month will have a different theme and these programs will be completely free.  You'll want to mark these down on your calendar.

For May, the program will be very interactive with popular table top games to play.  The library will have plenty of choices, but feel free to bring your favorite game to share!  Games that will be provided include favorites such as Exploding Kittens, Resistance, Dixit, Forbidden Island, Love Letter, and more.  This is a great opportunity to hang out in a fun casual setting with other game lovers.  This event will take place Tuesday, May 23 at 6:30PM.

When June rolls around the library will have a Super Happy Fun Time Karaoke event.  Sing, belt, rap, or screech out your favorite tunes solo or as a group.  Bring your favorite singing buddies or come make some new ones.  No matter what your musical talent level is there will be no judgement here.  This program will be Tuesday, June 27 at 6:30PM.

Summer might come to an end but our July event will shake the end of summer funk.  The library will be hosting a Murder Mystery party and it will be up to the attendees to discover who the Mockingbird Mangler is.  So dial M for Mockingbird on Tuesday, July 25 at 6:30PM.

As noted above, all of these programs are free and no registration is required.  Since they are events for 18 and up, please have a picture ID to verify your age if asked.  Some events may include refreshments, but no alcoholic beverages are allowed in the library.  If you have any questions about these events or other future programs, please call Marianne Vadney at the Mockingbird Branch Library at 325-437-7323.  The Mockingbird Branch of the Abilene Public Library is located at 1326 N. Mockingbird Ln.
