As sad as we are to say this, the 2018 Summer Reading Clubs are drawing to a close as July comes to an end. We've had such an exciting two months of literacy activities, special events, guest presenters, and more to all show you how "Libraries Rock," as part of the theme this year.
We appreciate everyone who came out to participate in the summer fun including fitness classes, Zoo Lady visits, STEAM programming, Young Audiences performances, craft sessions, and more. Because we have a community that values libraries and the services they offer, you've helped to make this summer a smash hit. Don't take our word for it, visit any of our social media platforms and you'll see just what we're talking about.

Join in on some dancing and good old-fashioned fun as we play '50s music, play giant-sized bowling, play corn hole, do some hula hooping, and so much more. Feel free to come out dressed in your '50s best, but that's certainly not required. Call 325-437-7323 for details.
- End of Summer Party: "Libraries Rock" | Tuesday, July 31 at 3:00PM at Main Library: Your Main Library children's staff will put on a great afternoon of fun for families that fails within the Libraries Rock theme. - End of Summer Party: "Splash Pad Party" | Saturday, August 4 at 6:30PM at South Branch Library: Your South Branch Library will close out the summer partying fun by taking the party out of the library and into one of our city's parks. Join us as Redbud Park, located at 3125 S. 32nd St., and look out for our tall, blue library flag as we'll setup next to the new Splash Pad. Come in your swimsuits, bring your towels, chairs, and friends, and expect to have a great time. Staff will put together a series of fun activities, water games, and more, so even if you don't splash, you still might get soaked. Thanks to our friends at Chick-fil-A in the Mall of Abilene, we'll also have their food truck available if you'd like to buy any yummy eats. Don't miss out on this Saturday event.
